Diesel Mechanic

The Diesel Mechanic role is onsite in Grain Valley, MO. Compensation is $35–$50 per hour in the feed’s salary field; the posting body separately states $30–$40 per hour depending on experience. The mechanic joins the service team at RM Thomas II Trucking, working on fleet trucks and outside commercial vehicles. The role diagnoses, repairs, and maintains diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment, supporting safe and reliable truck operations. It also performs preventive maintenance and inspections and documents completed work and required parts.

What you'll do

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air-conditioning failures
• repair engines, brakes, steering, suspension, clutches, transmissions, and differentials
• perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections
• write service reports
• maintain a clean work bay
• diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, and air brakes.

Why this role

Requires at least two years of hands-on diesel engine and heavy-duty vehicle experience, a valid driver’s license, and personal mechanical tools. Class A or B CDL, ASE or OEM training, and Missouri State Inspector certification are preferred or advantageous.
