The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Pilot/Instructor III role is onsite in Blackstone, VA. Salary is $107,807–$140,149 per year. The role supports Platform Aerospace’s Flight Operations team and the operation and training of Vanilla UAS platforms. The pilot/instructor plans and conducts flight operations, trains new UAV pilots, and provides technical support to help meet mission requirements and maintain operational readiness. The position includes stateside training and overseas missions, with travel that may be required up to 100% CONUS and OCONUS.

What you'll do

• Plan flight operations to meet customer requirements
• conduct pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight safety checks
• remotely pilot UAS aircraft according to flight plans or mission needs
• deliver pilot training
• support overseas flight operations for up to four months at a time as required
• conduct customer flight demonstrations at remote locations
• troubleshoot equipment
• comply with applicable FAA regulations.
