HVAC Start-Up Warranty Technician

The HVAC Start-Up Warranty Technician role is onsite in Apex, NC. Compensation is not specified. Maynor Service Company is seeking a technician to commission newly installed residential and commercial HVAC systems before customer handover. The technician tests and balances systems, identifies and resolves installation discrepancies, and documents commissioning results. This work helps ensure systems operate efficiently and safely while meeting manufacturer requirements and applicable codes and regulations.

What you'll do

• Perform initial start-ups on split systems, heat pumps, gas furnaces, package units, and ductless mini splits
• measure airflow, static pressure, temperature differentials, superheat, subcooling, and electrical voltage
• troubleshoot wiring, refrigerant, airflow, and mechanical issues
• ensure compliance with building codes, EPA regulations, and manufacturer guidelines
• complete digital logs and checklists
• guide clients and site superintendents through system operation
• coordinate with installation crews and dispatch.

Why this role

Requires 2–4 years of HVAC installation, service, or commissioning experience, EPA Universal Certification, and a clean driver’s license. NATE certification is preferred; the role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and working in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor sites.
