Senior Data Science Manager – USCG Ship Design Team

Job overview

The Senior Data Science Manager role is primarily onsite at least three days per week in Washington, DC, with up to 10% travel to locations in the continental United States. Compensation is $100,000–$125,000 per year. THOR Solutions supports the U.S. Coast Guard Ship Design Team. The manager applies statistical analysis, data mining, modeling, and simulation to inform lifecycle and systems-engineering work on Coast Guard boats and cutters. The role leads data science projects from requirements through deployment and sustainment, producing analysis and recommendations that support design, operations, personnel, manning, and training decisions.

What you'll do

• Plan and conduct statistical analytics projects and studies
• develop sampling plans and analytical procedures
• use SQL, Python data science and visualization packages, MATLAB, PHP, Tableau, and related tools
• oversee data science product development from requirements through deployment and sustainment
• recommend improvements and data-use standards
• perform and present simulation and sampling results
• provide scientific and statistical expertise supporting Coast Guard platforms, systems, personnel, lifecycle engineering, manning, and training analysis.
