What you'll do

• Recognize medical emergencies and perform physical examinations
• provide appropriate emergency therapy and care for acute illness or injury
• document patient information and care
• communicate with hospital physicians and follow written protocols when a physician cannot be contacted
• transport patients in emergency vehicles
• maintain equipment and vehicles
• assist with technical rescues
• complete patient statistics and administrative forms
• maintain required EMT and CPR credentials and continuing education.
