The Cook — Older Adult Center role is onsite in New York, NY, with compensation of $21.07 per hour. BronxWorks operates an Older Adult Center that provides spaces and support for older adults to connect and thrive. BronxWorks works to improve the economic and social well-being of individuals and families. The cook prepares meals under the Kitchen Manager’s direction and supports safe, sanitary food service, including receiving and storing food, maintaining kitchen areas, recording usage, and helping coordinate meal preparation and delivery.

What you'll do

• Follow Department of Health and OSHA kitchen hygiene requirements
• receive, weigh, and store food
• participate in menu planning
• prepare food under the Kitchen Manager’s direction
• handle food safely and maintain temperature controls
• clean kitchen equipment and dining areas
• package and deliver meals to satellite offices
• maintain food usage records and assist with monthly inventory
• help coordinate food preparation, meal service, and cleanup.
