The CNC Operator 1, B Shift role is onsite in West Henrietta, NY. Pay is $22–$29 per hour. Rochester Precision Optics produces precision optics, optical components, and optical assemblies for programs across multiple industries. The operator runs CNC mills and lathes using established programs and setups, monitors production and part quality, and documents inspections. The role supports repeatable, specification-compliant manufacturing by identifying and escalating quality or equipment issues.

What you'll do

• Operate CNC mills and lathes using existing programs, setups, and work instructions
• load and unload materials, fixtures, and parts
• monitor machine operation and part quality
• make basic tool-offset or feed/speed adjustments when trained and authorized
• inspect parts with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other tools
• complete production and inspection documentation
• communicate quality or equipment issues
• maintain a clean, safe work area and perform routine operator-level maintenance
• be available for occasional overtime.

Why this role

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM, with approximately 4–6 weeks of first-shift training before transition to second shift and a 5% shift differential. Applicants must meet U.S. Person requirements under export-compliance laws.
