The Chief of Security role is onsite in Golden Valley, AZ. Annual compensation is $81,795.96–$82,308.96. The GEO Group provides correctional and community reentry services, including evidence-based rehabilitation. The chief directs daily security operations and supervises staff to maintain effective operations while protecting the safety and security of the client population and staff. The role develops and updates security policies, oversees training, and plans for emergency situations in coordination with facility requirements.

What you'll do

• Oversee daily security unit operations and regulatory compliance
• supervise staff and participate in hiring, evaluation, training, development, promotion, and disciplinary processes
• ensure security and safety training
• develop and revise security policies for approval
• plan and respond to emergencies and direct searches for escaped offenders
• participate in escape and riot-control planning and staff training
• serve on training, budget, and policy review boards
• meet periodically with shifts
• respond to significant or unusual occurrences on a 24-hour, seven-day basis.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and five years of progressive correctional experience, including two years of management experience related to adult inmate supervision, custody, classification, and treatment. Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences or a related field with business administration coursework is preferred.
