Electrical Estimator — Oil and Gas

Job overview

The Electrical Estimator role is onsite, based out of the Midland, TX office, with frequent field job walks across the Permian Basin. Compensation is $48–$55 per hour. Design Solutions and Integration provides automation, electrical, and mechanical services to energy partners. The estimator scopes and prices industrial electrical projects from site visits, sketches, and customer requests, including projects without formal engineering drawings. The role supports competitive bids and smooth project handoffs by coordinating with sales and project managers and producing accurate labor and material estimates.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with the sales team to evaluate opportunities, participate in client meetings, and support competitive bids
• communicate with project managers after awards about labor hours, material budgets, and scope
• conduct field job walks across the Permian Basin and formulate electrical layouts
• translate field notes, sketches, and verbal scopes into material and labor takeoffs using estimating software
• maintain and adapt the McCormick industrial database
• scope and budget hazardous-area work
• consult with clients during job walks.
