The Excavation Equipment Operator role is onsite in Lamar, CO, with outdoor job sites throughout Southeastern Colorado. Compensation is $22–$27 per hour based on experience, plus performance bonus opportunities. Carrigan Excavating is a family-owned excavation company serving local communities, farmers, ranchers, and businesses. The operator safely runs heavy equipment and performs excavation work across residential, commercial, municipal, agricultural, and aggregate projects. The role supports field operations by completing work to project schedules and safety standards, coordinating with the foreman, and maintaining equipment and job documentation.

What you'll do

• Operate skid steers, backhoes, excavators, dozers, and loaders
• dig, grade, trench, lift, and move materials
• locate and repair underground utilities
• load, secure, and transport materials and equipment
• interpret blueprints and job scopes
• inspect and maintain equipment
• report mechanical or safety concerns
• follow OSHA requirements
• coordinate with the foreman
• track job progress and costs
• secure equipment and materials
• complete timecards and job reports
• train and support operators and crew members as needed.
