What you'll do

• Identify and process tissue specimens received in anatomic pathology
• assign sequential accession numbers and accurately enter patient and specimen information
• assist pathologists with gross examination by preparing labeled cassettes and operating the tissue processor
• process tissue, cut sections from embedded blocks, stain and deliver slides
• assist with frozen-section preparation
• perform special histochemical stains as requested
• prepare anatomical material for other laboratories when needed
• and file and retain slides and blocks for efficient retrieval and proper storage.
