Heavy Civil Construction Estimator

Job overview

The Heavy Civil Construction Estimator role is an onsite, full-time position in Port Saint Lucie, FL, paying $100,000 to $140,000 per year. The role supports a heavy civil contractor’s site development and infrastructure projects, with a Monday-through-Friday schedule. The estimator develops accurate, competitive estimates and bid proposals for civil construction scopes, evaluates pricing and project risks, maintains cost records, and works with operations and project management during project handoff.

What you'll do

• Analyze plans, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements
• perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, roadway, paving, concrete, labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted scopes using AGTEK
• prepare estimates and bid proposals using HCSS HeavyBid
• solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
• develop cost and production assumptions
• identify risks, scope gaps, savings, and value engineering options
• maintain cost information and bid files
• coordinate project handoffs
• support bid strategy and concurrent deadlines.
