Asphalt Roller Operator

The Asphalt Roller Operator role is onsite in Lutherville-Timonium, MD. Compensation is not specified. The operator supports Gray & Son’s construction team by preparing and finishing asphalt surfaces. This role exists to safely operate rollers and related heavy equipment to compact asphalt, earth, and subgrade surfaces to the required smoothness and finish, supporting construction work through equipment checks and other assigned duties.

What you'll do

• Safely operate breakdown, finish, rubber tire, smooth drum, pad foot, and other rollers to compact and finish asphalt, earth, subgrade, and base surfaces
• perform daily equipment maintenance and safety checks
• adjust machine speed and direction to achieve desired compaction and smoothness
• use hand rollers or tampers in areas inaccessible to road rollers
• perform other construction duties as assigned. Steel drum and pad foot roller operation may also be required.
