The Field Service Engineer — Western Region, Indio Area role is remote and field based within the Indio, CA area. Compensation is $33–$35.50 per hour. SMA America develops solar inverter technology and solutions for photovoltaic power plants and clean, reliable power. The engineer assists with commissioning, troubleshooting, warranty repairs, and maintenance of utility inverters at assigned sites. The role supports customer satisfaction and reliable inverter operation through field service, technical analysis, and regional customer support.

What you'll do

• Assist with commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and analyzing utility inverters in the field, by email, telephone, and site visits
• maintain spare-parts inventory
• work with high-voltage DC electricity, three-phase power, and inverter software and firmware
• perform maintenance according to product manuals and customer contracts.
