What you'll do

• Explains imaging procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
• Positions radiographic equipment at the correct angle and height over the appropriate area of the patient’s body.
• Ensures patient comfort and safety during imaging procedures.
• Operates radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
• Follows physicians’ orders precisely and conform to regulations concerning the use of radiation.
• Administers contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice.
• Reviews and evaluates developed X-rays or computer-generated images to determine if they are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
• Performs quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure it is safe and in working order.
• Maintains accurate patient records and documentation.
• Monitors patients’ conditions and reactions during and after imaging procedures.
• Addresses any patient concerns or adverse reactions promptly.
• Provides post-procedure instructions and support to patients.
• Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs, and placing orders.
• Ensures a clean and organized working environment in the imaging suite.
• Participates in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
