SQL Server Database Administrator and Migration Expert - AWS/Azure

The SQL Server Database Administrator and Migration Expert role is onsite in Washington, DC, with compensation of $55–$65 per hour on a W-2 basis. Eliassen Group is a strategic consulting firm providing technology, business advisory, and life sciences solutions. The role leads complex migrations of mission-critical SQL Server databases from on-premises environments to AWS and Azure. It also maintains database reliability, security, performance, and scalability while supporting cloud architecture, automation, incident resolution, and DBA mentorship.

What you'll do

• Install, configure, maintain, and tune SQL Server across on-premises, AWS, and Azure environments
• lead migrations using IaaS and PaaS, including Always On and SQL Clusters
• optimize cloud SQL and Managed Instance
• plan database architecture and capacity
• implement disaster recovery
• monitor performance, integrity, and security
• perform maintenance, upgrades, patching, and migrations
• manage permissions and audit logs
• implement encryption and TLS/SSL controls
• maintain documentation and runbooks
• collaborate on deployments and incidents
• mentor DBAs
• provide in-person support several days per week and participate in on-call rotations and monthly maintenance.
