Middle School Librarian – Leave Replacement

The Middle School Librarian – Leave Replacement position is onsite in New York, NY, with a full-time schedule of 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Compensation is $65,000–$75,000 per year, prorated for the leave period. The role supports Dwight School’s middle school students in grades 5–8 and its educational mission of personalized learning, community, and global vision. The librarian manages daily library operations, teaches research skills, supports reading and learning programs, and helps students and faculty use library, media, and technology resources. The role contributes to students’ academic and recreational needs while promoting digital literacy and a love of reading.

What you'll do

• Design and manage daily Middle School Library operations
• provide research skills instruction
• support faculty and student resource needs
• run reading programs such as book talks and lunch reads
• collaborate with faculty
• assist with library, media, and technology resources
• evaluate and order materials and databases
• maintain and weed the collection
• update the library website
• support digital citizenship, literacy, social media, online learning, and research
• advocate for reading.
