Substance Abuse Counselor

The Substance Abuse Counselor role is onsite in Eureka, CA, full-time, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Compensation varies by counselor tier and credentials: $20–$21 per hour for Counselor I, $21–$24 per hour for Counselor II, and $24–$30 per hour for Counselor III depending on certification or licensure. Aegis Treatment Centers is part of Pinnacle Treatment Centers, which provides addiction treatment services and describes its work as transforming lives through compassionate care. The counselor supports patients’ recovery through assessments, individualized treatment planning, counseling, referrals, risk screening, and documentation. The role coordinates with clinical and medical staff to identify risks, address patient needs, and provide evidence-based individual and group counseling.

What you'll do

• Orient new patients
• conduct intakes, assessments, discharge planning, and treatment planning
• administer biopsychosocial assessments and screening tools
• develop individualized plans using patient strengths and preferences
• monitor changes and relapse indicators
• identify and refer high-risk patients
• provide individual and group counseling and referrals
• document services
• participate in case conferences, training, and community outreach.
