Senior Software Engineer

Job overview

The Senior Software Engineer role is onsite in New Bedford, MA, with compensation of $115,000–$140,000 per year. The engineer supports LabXchange’s software platform as part of a small, collaborative engineering team. The engineer owns major features and subsystems from design through production, contributes to architecture and engineering practices, and mentors other engineers. What you'll do

• Own features and subsystems from design through implementation, deployment, monitoring, and support
• build and maintain backend services, APIs, database interactions, asynchronous processes, integrations, and frontend functionality
• evaluate architecture with the CTO and lead agreed implementations
• contribute to AWS infrastructure, containers, CI/CD, performance, and troubleshooting
• design for reliability, safe changes, and sensitive-data protection
• review code and technical designs, including AI-assisted work
• mentor engineers
• improve architecture, testing, security, documentation, deployment, and development practices
• identify technical debt and operational risks.
