The Staff Midwife role is onsite in Alexandria, VA. Compensation is not specified. BirthCare serves families seeking home births or care at its nationally accredited birth center, as well as clients seeking gynecologic care and family planning. The midwife provides care across pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and family planning. The role also supports birth assistants and students through supervision and teaching, and contributes to administrative and community activities.

What you'll do

• Provide antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, initial newborn, well-person gynecologic, and family planning care within practice policies
• assess risk and provide education and support
• document care and coordinate consultation or referrals as needed
• supervise and teach birth assistants and students
• perform assigned administrative duties.
