Quality Technician – Field QA/QC

The Quality Technician – Field QA/QC role is an onsite position based in Mobile, AL, with extensive travel to project and customer sites. Compensation is not specified. The role supports RMR Mechanical’s field quality activities on industrial construction projects. The technician helps ensure welding, fabrication, piping, boiler, pressure-component, and mechanical work meets approved procedures, applicable codes, project requirements, and customer expectations. Through inspections, material verification, coordination, and complete quality records, the role supports safe, compliant project execution and closeout.

What you'll do

• Support day-to-day project QA/QC
• perform visual welding inspections against approved WPSs, drawings, and project requirements
• verify welder identification, qualifications, and continuity records
• assist with welder testing
• maintain weld maps, logs, inspection records, and material documentation
• verify material identification and traceability
• assist with receiving inspections
• monitor fabrication and mechanical work
• coordinate hold points, witness points, inspections, and NDE
• report deficiencies and nonconforming work
• assist with NCRs, corrective actions, punch lists, reinspection, turnover packages, and project closeout.
