The RN helps plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care during stress testing. The role contributes to safe testing and holistic care through monitoring, nursing interventions, communication with providers, and coordination with patients and the broader care team.

What you'll do

• Initiate, monitor, report, and complete non-pharmacologic, pharmacologic, and PET stress tests with support from a nuclear technologist
• manage IVs using aseptic technique
• identify EKG and rhythm abnormalities
• prepare and record EKGs and communicate abnormalities
• monitor and document vital signs
• identify and treat stress-agent adverse effects under provider guidance
• notify patients of procedure, diet, and medication limitations 24–48 hours before testing
• administer prescribed medications and treatments
• assist physicians with procedures
• communicate findings and coordinate patient care.
