The Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) — Crisis Walk-In role is onsite in Indio, CA, with compensation of $48–$62 per hour. The position requires daily in-person work and availability for rotating weekend shifts in a 24/7 crisis care environment. The nurse supports WEA’s Crisis Walk-In Center, which provides voluntary crisis services for adults and children ages five and older. The RN provides triage, assessment, stabilization, medication monitoring, and care coordination for people experiencing acute behavioral health crises. Working with a multidisciplinary team, the nurse supports safe, trauma-informed care and appropriate transitions to higher levels of care or community services.

What you'll do

• Triage walk-in patients
• conduct psychiatric and medical nursing assessments
• monitor psychiatric status and withdrawal symptoms
• initiate nursing interventions
• administer and monitor medications
• use de-escalation and safety approaches
• coordinate care and transitions
• educate patients and families
• document care and maintain regulatory compliance.
