The Mechanical Journeyman role is onsite in Norman, OK, with regular hours of 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and adjustments required for hospital emergencies; the position also participates in an assigned on-call rotation. Salary is $60,000–$67,000 per year, based on experience. J.D. McCarty Center serves children with developmental disabilities in a pediatric rehabilitation hospital. The journeyman maintains, repairs, and installs HVAC and refrigeration systems to keep the facility’s physical environment in excellent condition for patients. The role also supports preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, project planning, and guidance for assigned maintenance staff.

What you'll do

• Maintain, repair, and install HVAC and refrigeration equipment and related controls
• perform preventive maintenance and document inspections
• work with consultants and suppliers on troubleshooting and upgrades as assigned
• read schematics, manuals, and blueprints
• support building inspections and project estimates
• guide assigned staff
• follow equipment and safety procedures
• participate in on-call rotations.
