Field Representative Application Counselor

Job overview

The Field Representative Application Counselor role is field-based across Maryland hospitals, with a weekly visit to the Baltimore, MD, office; compensation is $100–$150 per completed case. Hospital Support Services partners with Maryland hospitals to help uninsured patients apply for Medical Assistance and help hospitals receive reimbursement. The counselor guides patients through applications, gathers required documents, and coordinates with hospital staff and the internal case management team. This work helps patients access healthcare coverage while supporting hospital reimbursement processes.

What you'll do

• Assist English- and Spanish-speaking patients with Medical Assistance applications
• collect required documentation
• meet patients in hospitals or agreed locations after discharge
• support homeless patients with applications
• submit paperwork and enter cases at the Baltimore office
• communicate case progress to the HSS Case Manager.
