Facilities Technician

Job overview

The Facilities Technician role is an onsite, full-time position in Philadelphia, PA, with a regular schedule of 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and rotating on-call weekend and evening schedules for emergency responses. Compensation is not specified. The technician reports to the Director of Maintenance and supports SELF Inc. facilities and equipment. The technician conducts inspections, performs basic repairs and preventive maintenance, and helps keep facilities operating safely. The role also documents work, coordinates with the Facilities Manager and outside vendors, and supports the availability of tools, supplies, and equipment.

What you'll do

• Inspect facilities and equipment
• perform general maintenance and assigned repairs involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, landscaping, heating, and cooling systems
• maintain tool security
• document work in the maintenance work-order system
• assess repair scope and communicate status
• support outside vendors
• conduct safety and code-compliance inspections
• report inspection outcomes
• help maintain supplies and inventory
• use assigned vehicles according to agency rules
• participate in staff meetings and required training
• work rotating on-call schedules for after-hours and weekend emergencies.
