Job overview
The Fire Alarm Technician role is onsite in Rockville, MD. Pay is $30–$50 per hour, based on experience. The technician works with the client’s commercial operations team to complete fire alarm projects and service work safely and to code. The role installs, maintains, inspects, tests, programs, and troubleshoots fire alarm systems. It also coordinates with other trades and authorities, documents work, and provides hands-on guidance to apprentices and helpers to support timely, quality project delivery.
What you'll do
- Install, maintain, inspect, test, program, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72, the NEC, and applicable codes. Respond to system failures, inadvertent alarms, and service calls
- interpret drawings
- participate in AHJ inspections
- manage materials and service documentation
- coordinate with trades and project staff
- and train apprentices and helpers.
