The engineer owns and evolves the Datadog observability platform across cloud and on-premises environments. By building monitoring, automation, service-level objectives, and integrations, the role improves service reliability, incident response, and visibility into application and infrastructure performance.

What you'll do

• Own and maintain scalable Datadog observability solutions
• partner with application, DevOps, SRE/operations, infrastructure, and security teams on monitoring strategies
• lead migration from OpenView to Datadog
• automate monitors, dashboards, alerts, and telemetry configuration using Datadog APIs, Terraform, and scripting
• implement APM, tracing, log, infrastructure, and network monitoring
• develop RUM and synthetic monitoring
• define SLOs and error budgets
• integrate Datadog with ServiceNow
• create runbooks, post-incident reviews, and dashboards
• promote OpenTelemetry standards
• onboard services and guide engineering teams
• collaborate on platform cost optimization and data governance.
