The Senior Mechanical/Piping Field Engineer – Construction role is onsite in Aiken, SC. Compensation is not specified. The engineer supports construction engineering services for Savannah River Remediation at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site. This role provides field engineering oversight for piping and mechanical construction work, coordinating design, materials, work planning, safety, quality, field execution, and turnover to support site requirements.

What you'll do

• Oversee field construction procurement, fabrication, installation, modification, and maintenance
• coordinate design changes and resolve field design issues
• conduct constructability walkdowns and reviews
• develop material takeoffs and support procurement
• prepare work plans, installation sequences, hazard analyses, and permits
• coordinate approvals and maintain work-plan status
• lead pre-job briefings and support field execution
• inspect materials and workmanship for code compliance
• support turnover, startup, and work-plan closure.

Why this role

Four 10-hour workdays are used for SRR construction, with standard hours Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; alternate schedules may be used. U.S. citizenship and a valid driver’s license are required.
