Staff Software Engineer, Application Modernization

Job overview

The Staff Software Engineer, Application Modernization role is hybrid in Denver, CO. Compensation is $150,000–$175,000 per year. HCVT provides tax, audit, advisory, and business management services to organizations and individuals. The engineer leads application architecture and development for a new Azure cloud platform, modernizing legacy applications and establishing reusable engineering patterns. The work supports a unified, secure, resilient platform for internal teams and external clients while partnering with cloud, IT, security, and network teams.

What you'll do

• Own target-state application architecture and reusable patterns
• design multi-tenant isolation and authorization
• build APIs and integrations with third-party platforms
• modernize legacy .NET, WCF, and SQL applications
• develop cloud-native Azure applications
• lead application data design and migration
• establish application security, CI/CD, testing, observability, and incident-response standards
• and mentor engineers through design reviews and technical leadership.
