The Teacher Assistant — Special Education role is onsite in Providence, RI. Pay is $18–$21.55 per hour. The assistant supports teachers in implementing students’ educational, functional, and therapeutic goals under their Individual Education Plans. The role contributes to student learning and participation through individual and small-group instruction, classroom support, assistive technology, and coordination with teachers and therapists.

What you'll do

• Support implementation of IEP skills and goals
• provide individual and small-group instruction under a special education teacher’s supervision
• support career exploration and work experience at community learning sites
• use assistive communication devices
• assist with vocational routines, community service projects, and events
• implement equipment, sensory, mobility, and self-care plans
• maintain student data and records
• supervise students during school-day activities
• assist with emergency evacuations.
