The role is part of the Instructional team at North Hudson Academy, a private special education school serving students from pre-K through high school. The teacher plans and delivers individualized instruction and supports students with special needs through IEP implementation, classroom and therapeutic approaches, recordkeeping, and coordination with families and professionals. The role contributes to student learning and development within the school’s special education programs.

What you'll do

• Plan and carry out individual students’ IEPs and instructional programs
• plan and manage therapeutic approaches to individual and group discipline
• coordinate and schedule activities with staff
• maintain classroom supplies and instructional materials
• keep required records
• write reports and meet with parents and professionals
• participate in school meetings, conferences, and in-service activities.
