The Respite Worker — Coachella Valley role is onsite in Palm Desert, CA, with daily travel to clients’ homes. Pay is $17.50 per hour. United Cerebral Palsy of the Inland Empire provides services to people with developmental disabilities and works to advance their independence, productivity, and full citizenship. The worker provides scheduled temporary care and supervision for clients, following family or caregiver instructions. The role supports family stability while assisting with daily living needs, maintaining safety, documenting care, and communicating with the respite program team.

What you'll do

• Provide responsible care and supervision
• work at least two hours per respite appointment
• follow parent or guardian care instructions
• assist with feeding, dressing, toileting, grooming, and light meal preparation as needed
• maintain safety and never leave clients or siblings unattended
• report suspected abuse and complete documentation
• maintain CPR and First Aid certification
• submit timecards, mileage, reports, and daily notes
• and complete ongoing training.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or GED, two years’ experience with people with developmental disabilities, CPR and First Aid certification, a valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance, and security clearance. Daily travel to client homes is required and is limited to 40 miles unless approved.
