Job overview

The Over-the-Road Class A CDL Driver role is based in Rocky Mount, NC, with routes within North Carolina and to locations outside the immediate service area; overnight and occasional multi-day travel are required. Pay is $22–$28 per hour. The driver joins VABS Trucking at Opportunities Industrialization Center, Inc. The driver safely transports and delivers freight while maintaining vehicle, route, and compliance records. Reliable delivery, safe vehicle operation, and professional communication with dispatch, customers, and team members support the trucking operation’s service commitments.

What you'll do

• Operate Class A commercial vehicles in compliance with applicable laws
• transport and deliver freight
• complete routes that may involve overnight and multi-day travel
• load, unload, and secure freight as required
• conduct vehicle inspections
• maintain driver logs and delivery records
• use electronic logging devices
• report maintenance and safety issues
• communicate with dispatch and management
• follow company, DOT, and FMCSA requirements
• maintain a clean and safe vehicle.

Why this role

Valid Class A CDL and current DOT medical certificate, or ability to obtain and maintain one, are required. OTR or regional driving experience is strongly preferred; schedules may include occasional weekends, early mornings, evenings, or holidays.
