Vehicle Development Engineer II

The Vehicle Development Engineer II role is hybrid in Livonia, MI, with two remote days and three onsite days per week. Compensation is not specified. The role is part of ZF’s Vehicle Development team, developing and calibrating vehicle braking systems to support safer driving. The engineer develops and validates vehicle calibrations and resolves system interface issues to meet customer requirements and vehicle performance goals. The work supports delivery of stable vehicle dynamics through testing, data analysis, documentation, and coordination with customers and the internal development team.

What you'll do

• Calibrate ABS, traction control, electronic stability control, and related systems
• interface with vehicle architecture and CAN bus communications
• work with original equipment manufacturer customers to meet requirements
• resolve electronic control unit and vehicle interface issues
• maintain documentation and reports
• coordinate delivery timing and issue resolution
• participate in checkout and sign-off
• capture and review performance data
• schedule and conduct vehicle testing
• and process data in hardware-in-the-loop or software-in-the-loop environments.
