Director of AI Strategy & Adoption

Job overview

The Director of AI Strategy & Adoption role is based in Denver, CO, with an in-office setting and hybrid schedule; periodic travel to other offices and client sites is expected. Compensation is $275,000–$325,000 per year. The role advances Hazen and Sawyer's water-industry work by making AI useful in designing, delivering, and operating water projects. The director sets firm-wide AI direction, builds and leads the AI team, and moves pilots into supported daily practice. The role combines adoption, platform implementation, governance, and risk management so AI solutions are secure, defensible, and useful to technical and business teams.

What you'll do

• Develop a multi-year AI vision and roadmap
• prioritize use cases
• brief executives and the Board
• lead firm-wide adoption, training, and change management
• direct enterprise AI platform selection and rollout
• oversee custom AI solutions from prototype to production
• partner on architecture, identity, data access, and cost management
• recommend AI policies and approved-use processes
• identify and escalate risks
• set human-review standards
• build and lead an AI team
• and represent the firm externally on AI.
