Senior Software Engineer

Job overview

The Senior Software Engineer role is hybrid in Denver, CO, with in-office attendance required at least three days per week; the base salary range is $160,000–$200,000 per year. The engineer supports Kharon’s client-facing application and products that help clients assess risks related to global security and international commerce. The role builds and maintains backend services, APIs, and features across the development lifecycle, while contributing to testing, infrastructure, production releases, and engineering quality. It also collaborates across product, frontend, quality assurance, and architecture teams and supports and mentors mid-level engineers over time.

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services for the client-facing application using Kotlin, Java, Go, and Python
• develop and ship APIs and features through production release
• troubleshoot and fix bugs
• write automated tests
• collaborate with product, frontend, QA, and architecture colleagues
• contribute to GitHub Actions CI/CD, Kubernetes deployments, and AWS services
• participate in two-week agile sprints and support production hotfixes and feature releases as needed
• support and mentor mid-level engineers over time.
