Elementary Special Education Tutor

The Elementary Special Education Tutor position is onsite in Whites Creek and Whites Bend, TN, with a flexible arrangement of one hour per student on separate days and times; compensation is $60–$90 per hour. The tutor independently assesses and teaches two elementary students with distinct learning needs, including a fourth grader with ASD and ADHD and a third grader needing individualized academic instruction. The role builds responsive instruction, monitors progress, and communicates with families to support each student’s learning goals.

What you'll do

• Assess each student’s academic level, learning style, and support needs
• develop structured literacy instruction for the fourth grader
• provide individualized academic instruction for the third grader
• teach explicitly using modeling and guided practice
• establish calm, predictable routines
• monitor progress and adjust instruction
• communicate with families about progress and instructional plans.
