What you'll do

• Grind, sand, clean, or polish metallic parts
• use high-RPM grinding wheels and belt sanders on castings and hard-faced products
• mark defects and identifying information
• adjust equipment
• select wheels, belts, and production equipment
• measure and inspect workpieces against prints and specifications
• study blueprints
• record production data
• load workpieces using overhead cranes
• maintain a clean work environment.
