The Aerospace 5-Axis CNC Setup Machinist role is onsite in San Jose, CA, with an hourly pay range of $32–$42. The machinist independently sets up and proves out complex CNC work, adjusts tooling and offsets, and resolves machining and dimensional issues. The work contributes to accurate, tight-tolerance components in a high-mix job-shop environment and involves collaboration with programming, quality, and manufacturing engineering.

What you'll do

• Execute complete CNC setups from prints, programs, and setup documentation
• install and indicate fixtures and workholding
• load and qualify tooling
• set tool and work coordinates and adjust offsets
• interpret drawings and GD&T
• prove out new work
• inspect first pieces and in-process parts with precision instruments
• optimize cuts, tooling, speeds, and feeds
• troubleshoot machining issues
• collaborate with programmers, quality, manufacturing engineering, and machinists.
