Veterinary Assistant – Emergency and Critical Care

Compensation is $18–$22 per hour. The Veterinary Assistant – Emergency and Critical Care role is onsite in Durham, NC. Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospital provides 24-hour emergency care and specialty referral services for companion animals. The assistant supports veterinary technicians and clinicians with patient care and hospital operations in a fast-paced emergency and critical care environment. Restraint, treatment support, documentation, stocking, cleaning, and infection-control practices help maintain safe and efficient care for patients and clients.

What you'll do

• Safely restrain canine and feline patients
• assist technicians and clinicians with care and treatments
• help position patients and obtain radiographs
• enter vital signs in Cornerstone and document treatments in Instinct
• complete basic patient records
• monitor supplies and restock treatment areas
• maintain organized workspaces and complete assigned cleaning
• follow infection-control protocols
• communicate professionally with veterinary staff and clients
• raise concerns to management.
