Tech Operations Intern — Client Service and Technical Operations

Job overview

The Tech Operations Intern role is onsite in Rochester, NY, five days per week from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; remote and hybrid work are not available. Compensation is not specified. The internship supports Paylocity’s Technical Operations team, which develops and enhances solutions for its HR and payroll systems. This 12-week summer internship provides hands-on exposure to client service and operations. The intern supports client cases and technical requests, contributes to an operational project, and develops recommendations that help improve service delivery and team efficiency.

What you'll do

• Communicate with clients by phone and email
• complete casework and process requests
• investigate and resolve routine client issues
• assist with case routing, workload balancing, and assignment management
• complete project returns and processing cleanup
• document client interactions and resolutions in company systems
• collaborate with Account Managers and cross-functional partners to escalate complex issues
• troubleshoot software and hardware
• support client modifications involving areas such as time-off accruals, time and attendance, tax items, ACA, general ledger, reporting, custom calculations, or security requests.
