Educational Aide II

Job overview

The Educational Aide II is an onsite role primarily at the Gilson Child Development Center in Erie, PA, scheduled 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Compensation is $18 per hour. The role supports the Lead Teacher and the center’s care and education of children. The aide helps create a safe, engaging classroom by supporting curriculum activities, intentional play, literacy, and children’s daily routines. Through supervision and collaboration with classroom staff, the role contributes to children’s learning, development, and classroom well-being.

What you'll do

• Support the Lead Teacher in providing classroom care and education.
• Assist with the Creative Curriculum, play plans, intentional play, literacy activities, and daily routines.
• Engage verbally with children, collaborate with classroom staff, support self-regulation and classroom behavior, supervise children under the Lead Teacher’s direction, report developmental or behavioral concerns to the Center Director, and maintain a clean, safe classroom.
• Travel to other centers within the county is required.
