Peer Recovery Coach

The part-time Peer Recovery Coach role is onsite in Columbia, MD, with compensation of $17–$18 per hour. Tuerk House is a nonprofit behavioral health system providing recovery care and support to patients and families. The coach serves as a role model, mentor, advocate, and motivator for clients in recovery. The role helps clients address barriers, understand discharge plans, connect with community resources, and maintain engagement after leaving the program, while documenting outcomes and referrals.

What you'll do

• Identify barriers to services and work with clients and their recovery management teams
• support discharge planning
• connect clients with mutual self-help groups and community resources
• advocate for client goals
• communicate needs to clinical staff
• transport clients to referral sources or safe environments as necessary
• maintain post-program contact
• provide recovery education
• document referrals, outcomes, and other required information
• conduct room searches for compliance, contraband, and cleanliness.

Why this role

A high school diploma or GED is required. CCAR training is required or must be obtained within the first six months; CPR/AED and de-escalation certifications are preferred.
