Sports Instructor – Jiu-Jitsu

The Sports Instructor – Jiu-Jitsu works onsite in Waltham, MA, for $17–$18 per hour. Classes are held on weekday afternoons and weekend mornings. The YMCA of Greater Boston supports and strengthens communities through its programs. The instructor coaches sports classes for children and adults, developing participants’ skills and sportsmanship while maintaining a safe, age-appropriate environment. The role also communicates with parents and helps participants improve through instruction and positive feedback.

What you'll do

• Coach sports programs using provided or self-designed curriculum
• demonstrate skills
• maintain group focus
• adapt drills and games to participants’ ages and skill levels
• maintain a safe playing environment
• prepare for classes and set up and clean up the play area
• provide feedback and encouragement
• communicate with parents
• keep attendance records
• follow safety and participation policies
• and attend meetings, trainings, and events as needed.
