The Communications Technician 2 role is onsite in Charlotte, NC. Compensation is $27–$28.50 per hour. The position supports M.C. Dean’s telecommunications and technology solutions for mission-critical facilities and infrastructure. The technician installs, terminates, tests, and troubleshoots commercial communications cabling and related systems. The work helps deliver safe, high-quality installations that meet plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards, while also supporting and mentoring apprentices.

What you'll do

• Install video, data, copper, and fiber cable
• terminate and test horizontal copper, fiber, and riser cable
• install patch panels, cable trays, racks, conduit, and raceways
• read plans and specifications
• troubleshoot cable problems
• assist with outside-plant installations and grounding
• mentor apprentices
• maintain a clean and safe work area.

Why this role
