Electrical Switchgear and Control Technician

Job overview

The Electrical Switchgear and Control Technician role is field-based in the Kansas City, KS area, with pay of $30–$40 per hour. The technician diagnoses, repairs, tests, and maintains low- and medium-voltage equipment, documents service work, and follows electrical safety procedures to help restore and maintain customer systems.

What you'll do

• Diagnose electrical faults
• repair or replace breakers, relays, contactors, transformers, switches, cabling, and wiring
• perform functional and protective-device tests
• complete preventive maintenance and calibration
• commission or return equipment to service
• respond to emergency calls
• communicate findings to customers
• document test results and service reports
• follow lockout/tagout and arc-flash safety procedures.
