The Registered Nurse (RN), School Nurse role is onsite at school assignments in the south suburbs of Chicago, with Palos Heights, IL as the listing location. Compensation is $39–$42 per hour. The nurse supports student health needs in cooperation with school staff, parents, and guardians, under the supervision of the chief school nurse and/or school principal. The nurse provides nursing care and first aid, responds to emergencies, documents services, and communicates health information to appropriate personnel. The role also coordinates with families, physicians, and social agencies, supports health education, and makes referrals. Diabetes management experience and at least one year of school nursing experience are required; accompanying medically fragile students on a school bus may be needed.
