The Pre-K Lead Teacher role is onsite in Herndon, VA, at 3005 Dower House Drive. Compensation is $20–$22 per hour. Rising Stars Day School offers a Reggio Emilia-inspired learning environment that centers children, exploration, play, and project-based experiences. The teacher leads classroom routines and age-appropriate learning for children, supports their social-emotional development, and tracks progress. The role also guides an assistant teacher and communicates with families to support children's learning and safety.

What you'll do

• Lead daily classroom routines
• organize the classroom and prepare materials
• maintain supervision and ratios
• manage transitions
• follow curriculum and prepare weekly lesson plans
• lead age-appropriate activities
• track progress and support individual learning needs
• use positive guidance
• maintain developmental records and incident reports
• communicate with families
• direct and support the assistant teacher
• check classroom and playground hazards and follow safety and emergency procedures.

Why this role
