Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) - PRN, onsite in Canistota, SD. Pay is $26.00 - $36.00/hr for LPNs and $34.00 - $48.00/hr for RNs, with a $2.50/hr location premium. Good Samaritan is a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of service to seniors. This role provides professional nursing care for residents, utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with inter-disciplinary colleagues. The LPN/RN is responsible for resident assessment, medication administration, and ensuring resident comfort and safety.

What you'll do

• Provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
• Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting.
• Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per care plan.
• Performs testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and to provide the care needed.
• Recognizes problems, recommends solutions and responds effectively to assist in an emergent situation.
• Ensures the health, comfort and safety of residents.
• Contributes to the assessment of residents and administers medications or treatments as ordered.
• Documents resident interactions and outcomes.
• Communicates resident's changing condition and care related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.

What we're looking for

Education

Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.

Experience

Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility.
